Ltd. had been invited by its state government to exhibit at the Health Informatics Society international conference being held in Brisbane (July 25-27). The company showed Custom Speech USA products from submission of dictation through the document management system Command!™, "dual-engine" editing with SpeechMax™, publishing the final document to the referring doctor for approval, and archiving the document files. Medical I.T. reports that the products "were very well received. The common response after receiving a demonstration from A to Z of the system was effectively '. . . . where have you been all of my life”. Most who attended had tried speech recognition of one form or another and not gone forward to implementation – the typical reason being the inflexibility or hostility of the [dictating user] toward an imposed new way of doing things or the lack of complimentary workflow management system. The presentations, which always showed SpeechMax but also showed that straight PlayBax™ transcription [of the entire audio file with transcriptionist footpedal] was also available, convinced the prospects to the extent possible in those circumstances that there was an answer to a long standing suite of problems." Thank you Medical I.T. for the follow-up.
