THE SPEECHPROFESSIONAL ADVANTAGE

Speech recognition accuracy is highly dependent upon the quality of the dictation audio. Sometimes it results in 95% or more accuracy, sometimes considerably less.  The products that this company have produced are based upon this reality.  They are priced so that a physician practice, law firm, transcription company, or other business can automatically prepare a rough draft with server-based speech recognition at a reasonable cost.  In many, if not most cases, this rough draft will be edited by a transcriptionist before sending to the speaker for approval.  Doctors and other speakers also don't have to change their dictation habits.  The speech user profiles can be created and trained behind the scenes without an enrollment .  Special tools have also been created to make transcriptionist editing highly efficient.  SpeechProfessional software suite runs for $499.  The suite may be used with FREE Microsoft SAPI 5.x speech recognition, or for $949 with a Dragon Professional single speech user runtime license ($999 for Legal or Medical).

This system has been designed to provide you with everything you need to get going with server-based speech recognition using off-the-shelf Dragon, IBM, or Microsoft speech recognition.   It also supports real-time, interactive speech recognition, and  includes workflow and file management,  document retrieval, and time tracking, audio conversion, sound recorder with bar code entry option, transcription playback with foot control, HTML text editor, and other features.  This suite includes multiwindow, multilingual SpeechMax  text editor (U.S. and foreign pats., pats. pending), and SpeechServers™ (U.S. and foreign pats., pats. pending) for speech recognition and speech user training and management.   SpeechMax  HTML text editor and SpeechServers may be purchased separately.  However, the server software generally requires workflow and text editing features provided in SpeechProfessional for efficient operation.  For larger installations, SpeechServers licenses may be purchased for additional server computers.  A PC solution SpeechStation™ is available, as well as add-on telephone dictation server and call management.  With our experienced programmers and systems engineers, a PC solution can also be "factory" configured and shipped to you.  It's that simple.

SPEECHMAX FOR REDICTATION OR COURT REPORTING

SpeechMax is a multifeatured product for dictation, transcription, speech recognition, and text to speech, including redictation for medical or other transcription or court reporting.  With redictation, a transcriptionist listens to dictation audio and redictates real-time using his or her speech user profile.  This is usually done because the original speaker has low accuracy with speech recognition, or the transcriptionist has a disability related to carpal tunnel syndrome.  SpeechMax supports standard real-time redictation, but it also includes what we believe is a totally unique, one-of-a-kind feature that enables a transcriptionist to transcribe the dictation or other speech with  one speech user profile, correct it with his or her profile, and save corrected, audio linked text as training material for both speakers.  This is accomplished through a unique SpeechMax annotation window that permits a second speaker to correct a first speaker's speech recognition without corrupting or using the first speaker's speech user profile.  More generally, speech recognition is now seen as a potentially useful tool for court reporting.  As described in a recent article, "There are fewer than 100,000 court reporters nationally, fewer than 10 percent of whom use their voices for court reporting, and fewer still who use their voices with speech recognition.  However, speech recognition appears to be gaining popularity.  While established court reporters may be resistant to change their processes, the younger generation is exploring the benefits of speech recognition from the outset.  Court reporting schools now even include speech recognition in their curriculums."  R. Springer, "To Dictate or Record,"  Speech Technology Magazine (November/December 2006)
